Livestock Projects-Important Update
As of January 1, 2017, all medically-important antibiotics for use in or on feed and in water now require a veterinary feed directive (VFD) or a prescription. This new requirement will affect many livestock producers including 4-H members.
The State 4-H Office, in coordination with the UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Extension, and the California Department of Food and Agriculture presented an one-hour webinar to explain the new regulations and their implications. Please see the Animal Science page http://4h.ucanr.edu/Projects/STEM/SET_Projects/Animal/ for information about the webinars and resource links.
