The University of California 4-H Youth Development Program promotes hands-on, experiential learning for all youth ages 5-19. Youth members and adult volunteers from all backgrounds and locations are welcome.
We're proud that Santa Barbara County has a passionate 4-H program. Our 100 adult volunteers work together with youth to help them reach their fullest potential, while strengthening the community as a whole. We have 12 separate 4-H clubs each of which operates under the direction of a Community Club Leader (CCL), Project Leaders and a team of 4-H officers.
In Addition, we have several community partners in Santa Barbara that include local libraries, non-profits, and schools.

4-H is in all counties in California! The official 4-H emblem is a green clover with white H's. The 4-H emblem has a federal mark and federal guidelines on its use.
What do the 4-H's stand for
HEAD - Problem solving: ability to sort out complex problems.
HEART - Emotional development: developing good attitudes toward work and learning; developing acceptance and appreciation of other people.
HANDS - Skills development: ability to do, skill in doing and habit of doing.
HEALTH - Physical development: understanding and appreciating a growing and changing body.

100% of your donation to the California 4-H Foundation goes toward strengthening 4-H youth development programs in the local counties.

The 4-H Youth Development Program in Santa Barbara County is a volunteer run program which provides educational programming to youth ages 5-19 in our county. All donations directly benefit the local 4-H program, and provide opportunities for youth in Santa Barbara County to learn about Healthy Living; Science, Engineering, & Technology; Citizenship; and Leadership & Speaking!
